Gulfside Clinical Research
Gulfside Clinical Research, LLC is a growing clinical research facility in Gulfport, Mississippi, with the capability of expanding into other clinics and cities in the Gulf Coast region. The Gulfside team is led by founder and general manager Michelle Kessling, BS, CRC, and medical director Stanford A. Owen, MD. Michelle has coordinated studies in Phases 1, 2, and 3 in addition to managing CHM Research for two years. Dr. Owen has served as Principal Investigator on over 30 studies in the past ten years. Dr. Owen has been in private practice since 1979, with certifications by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Physical Nutrition Specialists, and is a NEI Master of Psychopharmacology. Other Gulfside team members include Anne Andry, MS RD, a dietician experienced in protocol-specific nutritional counseling and a study coordinator who maintains high data quality and subject retention, and Beth A. Saucier, FNP, a Certified Diabetes Educator who often serves as Sub-Investigator and is a diabetes management specialist.
Gulfside Clinical Research Facilities
Gulfside Clinical Research is located within the 10,000 square foot Center for Health Management, at the corner of 33rd Avenue and 15th Street in Gulfport, Mississippi. Although it is only blocks from the beach, this facility sustained minimal damage from Hurricane Katrina. As an independent organization, Gulfside Clinical Research uses central Institutional Review Boards and laboratories for all clinical trials. Gulfside also has the capacity to conduct small-scale studies that require subjects to remain in the clinic overnight and/or IV studies. Locked, metal storage cabinets are used for all study-specific documentation and investigational products as appropriate. Temperature sensitive storage equipment includes a dedicated refrigerator, -20°C freezer, and a -70°C freezer. Other capabilities at our facility include:

Gulfside Clinical Research is also affiliated with an independent outpatient surgical facility, and can coordinate clinical studies that involve the following procedures:

Clinical Research Volunteers
Be a part of the future of healthcare! The Gulfside team relies on volunteers to be a part of clinical trials. Volunteers receive doctor visits, study medication, and study procedures at no cost to them. Some trials also provide compensation for time and travel related to study participation. All medical records remain highly confidential, and the Gulfside team is always prepared to discuss any concerns or questions with our current or prospective patients.
